  1. With a beater or stand mixer, cream the butter and shortening.
  2. Add sugar and beat for one minute.
  3. Add vanilla and milk and beat several minutes until very smooth. The longer you beat it, the fluffier it will be.
  4. Eat by the spoonful. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes

Chocolate buttercream: add 1/2 cocoa powder with the sugar and 2 additional teaspoons more of the milk in the final step.

For other flavors, omit the vanilla and add a 1/2 cup fruit at a time. Add additional 1/4 cups of sugar if the consistency changes.
